    Defrag stuck on Analyze

    Hello,
    I have a laptop that I am trying to defrag the drive on. All programs have been stopped and the screen saver is set to none. When defrag is started it just says (C Analyzing...
    It never gets to the Defrag mode. Thanks for the help.

    Go to the Command Prompt and type "chkdsk /f" without the quotes, then restart the PC. You may have some disk problem that's causing the defragmenter to hang.

    That did the trick. The chkdsk worked. It found some funky files on the drive and fixed them. It now Defrags.Thanks for the help.
