Red face mirror the orignal hard drive software

I am trying to start my own computer repair business. When I get in a computer that needs a clean install I always have to reinstall 3rd party software again. Is there any software out there that will mirror the orignal hard drive software so I don't have to reinstall the 3rd stuff. Sometimes people don't have the backup disks.

How have you handled it in the past?

You can clone/make an imgage of a drive. But that defeats the purpose of a clean install.

I just reinstall the 3rd party software if they have it. Is there a way to copy just those programs, copy them to the HD when the clean install is done and use the programs. When I tried before they don't work.

Windows applications make tons of entries to the registry and install and register files to various Windows folders. So as you've seen, you can't just copy programs.

Disk Boot Failure, insert system disk, press enter.

How do I fix this error?

Check that there isn't a non-bootable floppy disk in the drive first of all.

You can check the condition of the HDD,
With the HDD manufacturers' diagnostic utility.
    Cheers.
