    Question O&O Defrag

    Had O&O Defeg,freeware edition.
    Upgraded to O& O Server Edition,removed freeware edition as required but when trying to install the new version am getting the message that there are still system files installed and the upgrade cannot continue ? How do I completely remove the old version ??

    Windows XP Pro
    Athon 850
    512MB RAM
    Service Pack 1


    Any help would be greatly appreciated !

    ps. Also tried removing the prog file , but to no avail

    did you reboot and delete the old directory?

    Open an explorer window (like my computer) and navigate to c:\program files\ . There may be a folder with the O&O program name on it. Highlight it, hold the shift key and the delete key, and then confirm the delete when it asks.

    If that doesn't work we'll try something else.

    You might also try contacting O&O Software technical support for assistance. Since they are in Germany, you might keep in mind the time difference...

    u might want to check ur registry as well go to start>run and type regedit i would make a back up of the registry by going to registry>export (make sure my computer is highlighted in the hierarchy on the left) once u make a back up go to CURRENT_USER>Software and see if there is a folder O&O if there is delete it and restart and try the install again
