USB Drive Encryption Software
I've got a Corsair Voyager GT 3.0 32Gb USB drive and I'm looking for encryption s/w. Freeware would be fine - typically, the price is right.... - but I'm willing to spend a bit of $$ for the correct product.
- USB device will not be bootable: data only
- Must be 128-bit AES or better
- Full disk encryption nice, but if partial, not severely limited (2Gb is way too small)
- Very much prefer that the software be run from the USB device, rather than having to install it on every stinkin' computer I touch
I've done the Web search but before making a decision I thought I'd seek advice from y'all: that way I can blame someone else if it fails....
Thanks,
Dr. D.

What version of Windows are you using? You may have encryption build right in.

XP: don't think so.

I was hoping someone in the community has had experience with a specific product. If not, oh, well......

It's not really much help to you, but I do have experience of "BitLocker to Go" which is built in to Win7 Ultimate. It is extremely simple to use and very effective, if you were planning on getting a new PC in the near future.

I do appreciate the info, though: there may be some 'hidden' offerings from some of these folks that could do the job. I'm already preparing myself to spend some of my tax refund on one with encryption s/w included.

Personally, for software-based encryption I usually use http://www.truecrypt.org/ (Hidden Volume). Hardware-based, I carry the IronKey Personal 8GB
