Thanks for the insight all. I did tell him to call Dell, explain his computer needs and go from there.......... this fellow watches his $ religously......... at first he inquired about getting a new MB and trying to get this thing going...... I just told him it would not be in his best interest to do so...........

Are mb’s and cpu’s usually interchangeable from one E-machine to another, even though the pc may be a different model #? Thanks

I got this question from the same party with the T2984. I have no idea what he has in mind or what he is doing..... I thought he would have made a decision by now..... I guess it was a dumb post....... he just watches his dollars....

He could replace the motherboard, memory, CPU, AND POWER SUPPLY with something far better that what the e-machine had originally for $170.

    Power supply - ThermalTake 430 - $43
    Motherboard - $50
    CPU $50
    Memory - $25

    Total $168 + Shipping
