Antivirus Pro 2009
Is there a new and improved version of this monster out? I'm haveing a terrible time getting it off a computer. I'm using what I think is the most current version of SmitfraudFix by Siri ( downloaded it 11-19-08 ) and I've run it at least 5 times ( in safe mode) and it will not run the clean/fix registry after disk cleanup. I'm not even sure the disk cleanup is finishing because the screen just goes blank. I have to ctrl-alt-delt to restart.
any help is apperciated, Thanks

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebyt...re_d5756.htmll) to your desktop.
* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure to checkmark the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
* Post the log back here.
Make sure that you restart the computer.
The log can also be found here:
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt
Or at C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt
An hijackthis log would be handy too.

Thanks Crunchie, I wish I could install the malwarebytes program but the computer won't let me! I'm going to post in Viruses/Trojans/Spyware forum now because I'm at my wits end.
Thanks

Post a HijackThis log at any rate - let's see what is brewing in there.
If, after downloading, it doesn't want to run - rename the executable to something like, say, Analyze.exe.
