Ok, so I precisely followed the instructions on Slipstreaming the Windows SP3, even made the same exact files used in the tutorial. I got the extracting done...but an error code comes up once I do the Windows Share command: C:\XP-SP3\i386\Update\Update.exe -S:C:\XP. I get an error that says the following:
Setup
Failed to copy some or all of the files necessary for integrated install
Please check that:
a) No network or copy errors occurred during the integration process
The format of the destination directory is correctl
The files to be integrated must reside in an i386 and/or ia64 or nec98 directory
(i.e. for an i386 share, if you typed "update /s:c:\cdshare", the files must be in the c:\cdshare\i386 directory).

- Verify the target folder(directory) contains a sub-folder(sub-directory) named i386.
- Check to see how much hard drive space you have available.

Ok, I've been dealing with the guys over at The Elder Geek and they asked me to run the following:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{0000010e-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}]
@="IDataObject"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{0000010e-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\NumMethods]
@="12"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{0000010e-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\ProxyStubClsid32]
@="{00000320-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{00000320-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}]
@="oleprx32_PSFactoryBuffer"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{00000320-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\InprocServer32]
@="C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\ole32.dll"
"ThreadingModel"="Both"
and that worked....the click and drag; cut, copy & paste, and double clicking all work - BUT I'M going to restart (just to make sure I'm not dreaming hehe)
be right back.

You are very welcome...thank you soooo much for helping me with this, but you're not off the hook yet My audio still doesn't work
And speaking of that...we're waiting to talk to my husband's boss about the CDs he gave to us with the video card, because when I looked at them, they didn't say BrookTree anywhere on them, but maybe I'm not familiar enough that maybe I'm missing something:
One is a cd that says EVGA Display Driver Installation CD and the other is a NVidia 7800GTX Graphics Drivers cd 2007(it's homemade by the way)...so if you know just by the names that these are not the cds, then we do not have any other cds for a BrookTree video capture card - the only cd we would have is the Restore DVD that has applications, Drivers & operating system on it. Would that work??

Those CDs are for your video.
What's your computer brand, and model?
