    CD-RW Software

Ijust bought Music CD Recorder 3.0 From Data Becker and have had nothing but probs. with it. I am running Win xp home version on a Dell 8200 Dim. It told me that it couldn't find my cdr so I tried to reinstall it and after that I get a quick blue screen, then my system reboots. I had some trial software that worked fine, which I uninstalled before I put Music Recorder. My CD-RW is a HL-DT-ST GCE-8160B

It sounds like your software needs updating. Data Becker is down right now so I can’t check whether there is an update or XP patch. Have you updated the software?

You might use Feurio until you get it sorted out. The demo is full featured and doesn’t expire: http://www.feurio.net/English/index.shtml

Hope you get it to work. I have it, but an earlier version I think, and it works great for putting all those cassettes on cd.

It is a LG (Lucky Goldstar) http://www.lge.com/product/product_view_eng.jsp?no=1068 LG says to contact Dell for firmware updates as the OEMs can’t use their firmware. You might check the Dell website for an update.

Try to remove your burner in device manager and reboot. Windows should reinstall it and you should not be asked for drivers. If your software still can’t see the burner contact Data Becker support.
