CD-RW Software
I was just wondering if there was any software that would let you burn a movie from the internet to a CDR Disk and then play it back in a DVD player. My DVD player is supposed to play CDRs. If so what software or hardware do I need to make this happen?

From the Sony manual:
“MPEG-1 files to go on a Video CD need to be “formatted for Video CD
according to the following standards:
NTSC 352 x 240 @30Hz (for United States)
PAL 352 x 288 @25Hz (for most of Europe)
Film 352 x 240 @30Hz
Audio inside the MPEG-1 file should be 44KHz.”
If the files you are downloading comply you can record them as a video CD and your DVD player should read them. The mastering software you already have will probably do it unless it is old.
Also from the Sony manual:
“Several manufacturers offer formatting tools and capture boards that will save captured
video to MPEG-1 specifically for Video CD creation. For capture boards and software,
Sony recommends Dazzle Multimedia (www.dazzle.com). To convert MPEG-1 files that
you currently have to Video CD form, try out XingMPEG (www.xingtech.com).”
I wish to be laid to rest where I have so serenely spent my golden years. Bury me in my Crown Victoria in the left lane of US19.

For you to be able to do this, several requisites must be met:
1. Your movie must be in format MPEG
2. the Video must have been encoded using a resolution of 352 X 240 if NTSC or 352 X 288 if PAL.
3. The sound must be uncompressed at 44,100 Hz.
This standard is called VCD (Video CD) and you can burn movies using Nero Burning Rom to a CD-R.
