    Win 3.1 no boot disk

I currently use Win 95 on line, but I have an old 486 using Win 3.1. I havn't used the old 3.1 for a few years, and can't find a boot disk. Is there any way that I can reboot and get this machine working.

Assuming that it won't boot from its hard drive, make a boot disk (Startup disk) with Windows 95. Boot the computer and type:
    dir c:\command.com
If that file is there, look at the time stamp for the file.
    5:00 is DOS 5.0
    6.00 is DOS 6.0
    6:20 Is DOS 6.20
    6:22 is DOS 6.22
If you don't find that file type:
    dir c:\dos\*.*
check the time stamp on the files in that directory.
You will need a boot disk for the version of DOS on your system. One source for a disk maker is:
    http://www.bootdisk.com/ .
    Another is:
    http://welcome.to/400dns
When you get the right boot disk and get the computer started with it, from the A:\> prompt, type:
    sys c:
After the system is copied you should be able to start the computer on its own.
Then see if windows still works.
    Let us know.
