reinstall Win95 upgrade without Win 3.1

My version of Win95 is an upgrade from Win3x to Win95. I've also got the service pak and the version is now 950a. This thing has been buggie ever since I upgraded so I'd like to re-install.
I know there's a way to trick Windows into thinking 3.x is there but I'm not sure how to do it. I'm installing from floppies and ot CD-Rom if that makes a difference. I have the original command.com files on disk.

Can someone help me with this or tell me where I migh tfind this information?

    Thanks in advance

The upgrade version of Windows 95 can be installed by putting the Windows 3.1 diskette in the floppy drive and telling the install program to look there when it ask you where to search for the previous version of Windows.

    Good luck,

Or you could just type dir>ntldr at a C: prompt. Then install.

    1) Create two files of 1 K size (put returns in them) - one called win.com and the other called win386.exe
    2) Boot using a boot floppy
    3) Make a /Windows directory
    4) Copy the win.com file there
    5) Make a /Windows/System directory
    6) Copy the win386.exe there
    7) Run setup a:/setup
