I get this Runtime Error message that pops up about my Internet Explorer.exe file, and it says something at the top like "blah blah blah... C++ ..." What does C++ have to do with it?! I've had this cpu for years, and I don't have system restore, and it has done this since 3 weeks ago, but I've not installed anything that could do this, unless maybe... my kids did something... lol any help would be gracefully accepted, thank you!
" I try to access My Computer,I get an error message saying:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime error
Program C:\Windows\Explorer.exe
Abnormal Program Termination
And it wipes my icons off the screen, including the taskbar. Do you have any idea what happened, and how I can fix it?
Yup, I know what happened, You have some corrupt system files. You are definitely in need of scandisk/defrag (See accessories | System Tools on the start menu) and if that doesn't fix it (and it may not) You will need to fully reinstall Windows 95 or restore it from a backup. "
I'll have to get back to you on that one, my uncle ahs the problem, but I told him I was registered here, so I posted this... I'll ask him and get back to you ASAP thank you!
I have a client that has been getting same "Microsoft Visual C++ runtime Library . . . path to IEXPLORE.EXE . . . .abnormal program termination" error but only with certain websites.
have attempted the following:
update virus signatures and run NAV several times - no viruses found and no luck
install, reinstall, uninstall, reinstall IE5.5 and IE6 - no luck
install VBRUN60.EXE - no luck
install runtime library (SPEU.EXE) - no luck
delete all temp files in Windows\temp dir, all cookies, Internet cache, and recycle bin - no luck
run RegClean (not recleaner)- no luck
run IE6 repair - no luck
disable all but a few items in MSCONFIG - no luck
Remove program "Common Name Taskbar 3.0" via add/remove progs - SUCCESS!!!!
I don't know what the heck that program was but it did show settings that I normally don't see in IE6 Tools \ Internet Options \ Advanced
Maybe this will help others, maybe take a look in the advanced settings and see if there is something odd there?? maybe add-on browser "enhancements" gumming up the works??
