Access denied to external USB HDD
I need a foolproof way to take control of a WD Essentials 2 TB external USB drive. (win 10)
I've tried one solution after another and even though I make the recommended changes I still get Access Denied.
Then I got something that didn't look right so I Cancelled out and got a message saying I shouldn't have cancelled out because now the disk is in an unknown state.
Is there a foolproof method? I'm a pretty good fool!
Thanks - rev

Does the disk still show up in Windows Explorer?
Can you still see any of the directory structure?
