I opened the Run box and typed in gpedit.msc and I got an error "Windows cannot find gpedit.msc"

Having not been able to make gpedit.msc work I then noticed that is for Windows Pro only.

So I used the Regedit fix further down and that has worked
I think it is now fixed

    Thank you JDC2000
You were able to give me an answer that hours of talking to Microsoft Support could not.

I removed this KB4556799 update which sped up Win10 on my laptop. Also downloaded the trouble shooter to prevent it from installing https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...lling-in-windo
