beeps and red flashing light
I dont know if I am posting in the right place or not. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what it means when a computer beeps 4 times and a red light flashes where start button is. It is an HP desktop computer. Any information will be appreciated. It failed to start then I took out that round coin looking thing and put it back in then it started and I had to click a few things then it did it again. Right now I dont know if it will start up if I shut it down. Thank you.

HP Beep codes: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02222922
It might help if you told us the exact model number.
Did you buy a new CMOS battery or just put it back in? How old is the computer?
You might also want to shut down the pc and then reseat (remove and reinstall) the memory.

The location depends on the model: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bph07555
You didn't say how old the pc is. If you power off the computer and the date resets, you definitely need a new battery.

Most BIOS/CMOS button batteries are CR-2032 type, but the battery should say on it what type it is. Also, when you insert it into the holder, check that the + symbols on the holder and battery match up. In most cases, the side with the lettering should be visible when the battery is inserted into the holder.

No I don't know how to update ram. I think the model is PS-4241-9HA
It's hard writing on this little kindle with old eyes so I apologize

I said RESEAT, not update. Turn off the PC, pull out the ram, then put it back in. That is "reseating".

PS-4241-9HA is the power supply, not the computer model.
Like jdc2000, the coin battery is usually a CR-2032.

Here is what a CR-2032 battery looks like. Hover over the image in the link to see a close-up.

Is the computer with the problem the only real computer you currently have?
