Skype
What ho one and all,
In the past, I used Skype on my XP computer but that is on longer an option.
I now occasionally use it with W7. The version I have is 8.78 (I think; it was whatever I downloaded as the current for W7) there is a shortcut on the desktop, but when I click it, rather than the program just starting showing some kind of spinning hourglass, I receive the program installing dialogue. The progress bar runs as all the files are extracted, then when completed, the programs stats and runs as it should.
The shortcut does point to the folder in Program Files but I don't understand why it wants to install every time, rather already being installed and just starting.
Grateful for some advice.
Thanks, toodle pip and stay safe.

Skype is junk. Microsoft has made it into something not very usable. Try Zoom instead:

Far be it for me to contradict jdc2000 and that is not what I am suggesting but have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling it?
