Windows 10 Wifi challenge

This is my first post since 2005.
I had installed win 10 on an older Dell Latitude laptop.
Cannot connect to my Wifi network.
I filled in my Netgear 94 password, but it says it cannot connect.
I took it to my local computer store.
they installed a new Digital HD and copied the old HD to the new one.
In the store they connected to their Wifi.
When I got the laptop home I still could not connect to my Wireless router
I do have another identical Dell Laptop with win 7 Home.
It connects to my Wifi fine.
Any ideas on this confusing situation?

It shouldn't be any different than previous versions of Windows.

How many wireless networks show up as available to connect to?

Triple check to make sure the password for your router is what you think it is.

What is the make/model of router? What type of WIFI security are you using, like WPA or WPA2?

Despite faster speeds reaching most homes around the globe, wireless (and often wired) networks can get bogged down. If your Internet connection is still working but the speeds are slower than normal, there is usually a logical explanation that can usually be fixed.

Cause: The most obvious problem with Wi-Fi speeds slowing down is being too far from the router. The further you are from the router, the more unreliable the connection and its throughput will become.

Fix: To fix this, just get a little closer. If the router is located in a different room, try going into the room where the router is located and see if that fixes the issue. If this is a consistent issue, try to position your router higher (up on a shelf), away from other devices, which can interfere with it, and in a central location in your home.

thanks for the ideas. Due to time constraints I got my win 10 home 32Bit software out and just installed a new copy and opted to delete all files for a new install.
It worked and now I can get on the internet.
must have been a corrupted file in the "mirror" copy that was done.
Now only challenge is when I open up my genealogy program FTM2017 and try to get on the internet, the FTM tells me I do not have an Internet Connection, even while I can see that My wifi is connected. I will work on it for awhile.
