Google Chrome becoming a Pain ! Fix?
I have been trying to revert the latest Chrome edition (widows10) back to the old edition. Every resource I try on the internet doesn't cut it.
The main problem I dislike is: when you type anything into the search bar, it jumps to the top of the screen making it difficult to read. On another PC with Windows 7, when I type into the search bar, the quest stays right there in the middle of the screen, making it much easier to read.
any solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...............

What version of Chrome are you running? The latest version is 80.0.3987.106.
Do you mean Google search from the new tab page? By default, it will send the search to the address bar (aka Omnibar).
To disable that, you need to to go chrome://flags/
In Search flags, enter Real search box in New Tab Page
Set Real search box in New Tab Page to Enabled
Relaunch Chrome

I use Chrome with BING search engine and have never seen the issue. And I tested with Google search and it's OK too.
Does IE and Edge do the same thing on your machine?
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

Thanks Midknyte; that little remedy worked just fine. I don't use IE nor Edge.

Just to clarify, the search box on the New Tab page is not the same as a searchbar. Pretty sure you'd need an extension to add an actual searchbar to Chrome.
