[RESOLVED] microSD card in Android phone.
I am having an issue with a microSD card in an Android phone. It has become corrupted, as they often do...I've dealt with this several times in the past, but this one won't even be read. I've tried different phones and my desktop. In "file manager", it only detects it for a few seconds, with no time to run a scan or repair program. The format message is constant, and I am considering doing that, and then using a recovery program like "diskdigger" to recover all the files and photos. Is there a better option? What is the best recovery program (completely free)? Thanks.

I've never used Recuva, but it has good reviews. Is it limited to 1GB of retrieval? The main issue is that the card isn't detected with my desktop, with USB adapter, or even if the card is left in phone and connected by USB cable. A format of the card would solve that, but I really only want that as a final option...over 800 photos and files, I estimate are on the card. Any other ways to get my desktop to detect the card without formatting it? Thanks.

You could try booting the PC from a live Linux disc to see if the card is recognized from that OS.

I've had success using Photorec another file recovery program when Recuva was not able to do the job.
