NEED HELP ON THIS ONE!
I have a Galaxys 8+ that I purchased 2 years ago. At that time I was using a gmail account. Shortly thereafter, I quit using that account. I want to do a factory reset on the phone but it won't let me do a reset till I log onto that old email address. Google no longer recognizes that email account, so that leave sort of leaves me up a creek. I can send the phone to Samsung & may get charged for it being out of warranty. Is there any kind of workaround ?? Thanks in advance.........

You need to disable Factory Reset Protection - see the link above.

By golly, you saved the day!! I was able to do what needed to be done. Samsung support had said that I would have to send it to them to be reset. I watch numerous you tube videos to no avail. Was close to giving up
when I decided to try you guys. Thank you Thank you Thank you.......................)
