Time to retire my FX 8350 and need some help.
Yes it's an old dog and still works well but I'm moving this box as my main PC. Switching it to a Ryzen. The problem I have is the motherboard and clearances. I'm worried about the video cards. I am going to re-use my rx580's in it and I had to clip off the hangers on the boards on both to clear my old board (990fxa-ud5 r5) and am trying to find a board that these cards will clear, without further modification.
I am trying to find a full ATX that supports video (HDMI (and DVI if possible)), wirelesss isn't needed, but would be a plus.
I don't want to waste cash if I don't need to you know?
Any thoughts are appreciated.

Oh, these are full length cards by the way (and the reason I had to clip the hanger holes). That's why I need the ATX.

Tada?
MSI Mortar. Not a fan of MSI though.
side note? I would rather have 2 PCIe 3.0 @ 16x No x8 split, Than anything else. Strict. I know.

alright....maybe? can't tell if that heatsink sits too high for the video cards. I'll call then on monday and see if I can get more specs on the board. To me? They give limited information. Stuff like the exact distance from the cpu to the ram and what the max height is.

If you have video card/s why buy an ATX board with built in video?
Have you looked at Gigabyte boards?

Another brand to check out would be Asrock.
I'm not a MSI fan either.

I want the onboard in case of video card back-fires. It happens. I hate relying on my old 8600gs. Weak card. I have been running through the gigabyte boards. The problem I have seen with every one of them is the placement of the PCIe and the satas. The second card always runs into it. Like I said earlier, I had to modify 1 card to clear the sata on the 990fxa ud5 board. I did accidentally find threadrippers for sale at micro center for 300 bucks off. A 2920X for 300 bucks? I may make that drive. The 2970wx's are 500 off (I wish they would deliver). It's a 3 hr drive but damn that's worth it!!

Thanks jdc. I really want the ASRock X570 Phantom because that is freakin nice. I can upgrade and sell (or keep) as I go.
I decided on the budget one. The ASRock X470 Master SLI/AC . Still decent and will run a Ryzen 7 2700x on it for now. I found a way around the sata's.They are just shy of what I need (like 1 millimeter, I called them for the distance. That was a long phone call). I found a PCIe X16 that will do its duty. Thank you for the help.

I found a PCIe X16 ------extension----- that will do its duty. Missed that word Moves it up from the board by like 1/8 inch, 3 mm. I'm not quite sure of how of the rest of the rest of the bracket fits or if I'm better off with just a side bracket to avoid any issues, period.
Thoughts? Or just start again. I do want to run both of these.

You could probably modify the bracket without too much trouble.

Kind of my thought. Better the bracket than the board.
