    Updating fonts in win 7

More and more over the last few years I've found that my win 7 system is missing fonts, mostly little emoji thingies, when I read articles online particularly in comments sections, forums, Twitter and Facebook. All I get are the little missing font squares. Anyone know if there any online caches of new, updated fonts available for Win 7 available from a safe source (for free)?

I can copy/paste the squares into google to search for what they are but that's pretty annoying and time consuming. I wouldn't have thought that emojis are that important but sometimes they reveal the intent of a comment that could be positive or negative depending on the emoji.

Google shows me lots of downloadable fonts but most cost money and I'm also concerned about possible malware issues.

@JDC.. I had the Segoe UI MS font update installed but not the one in link # 3. I installed that so we'll see if that sorts it.

Ok, upon further research I've found it's a browser related problem. It's related to Unicode block. This page..

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emoticons_(Unicode_block)

does not display many of the emoticon examples in my current main browser Vivaldi (latest updated version) but does in my newly installed Waterfox browser.

Not sure how to fix that but it makes the issue more specific.

I'm on Waterfox. How would I do U+1F62x? If I hold the U, it repeats.

I don't know. I've never once actually wanted to make an emoticon I just want to see them in other's messages.

Chrome browser is also unable to render the same emoticons. From everything I've seen there doesn't seem to be a solution. I guess I'll just have to live with it. It's obviously not a major issue, just a bit of an aggravation.
