    Eject Drive

    When i right click my WD external hard drive i do not get an option to eject,I get the eject option on my Flash Drive.
    How can i fix this?

    Is it safe to say the external drive is connected via USB?

    Does it show up in the sys try remove items icon?

    I'm guessing you are right-clicking in an Explorer window, rather than right-clicking on the USB icon in the Systray. As SRJ mentioned, you should use the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the Systray.

    By default, USB hard drives are detected as hard disk drives, not removable storage. That's why you don't see an "eject".
