Perhaps I'm missing something but it says...

To get started, you will first need to have a license to install Windows 10
which means you need to purchase one.

VirtualDr email notices are not working.

It's tricky - don't give up. I upgraded My brother's Win7 PC and my Godson's Win 8.1 unit. The first was an HP and the second a Dell. The HP install took a couple of tries.

If your Win version is of questionable source, it may not work. Be sure to select "Upgrade Now". For some users, that button is missing somehow.

I would advise using Internet Exploder to do this. Other browsers may not work.

Also, I recommend disabling the Windows Update service during the install. Since the version on the site is fully updated, WU will just hold up the process.

I drop in now and then

Thing is, Windows is damned reliable these days and the "bad capacitor" days are long gone. The latter is what kept me upgrading my systems and seeking/giving aid. My builds last me at least 5 years these days. Yeah it's boring, but it saves me tons of money! Thing is that when I finally do have a motherboard failure, I'm so far behind the times that I need big help at SysOpt getting brought up to speed on what's what.

One thing that hasn't and will probably never change is that once some aspect of Windows gets hosed, it's best to just reinstall. We spend too much time trying to fix stuff like Windows Update. Too bad we can't see just how many hours we will be wasting. If we did, we would just format. This is exactly what led me back to that free Windows 10 page. My Godson downloaded some crapware onto his 8.1 machine. I spent an hour fixing that only to find that Windows Update was busted. After 3 hours trying to remedy that, I rediscovered the free upgrade. Boom! Done.
