Chrome not allowing me editing a Wordpress post
I am unsure if this is computer related or what so I am hoping someone can help me out.
I have two sites that I add to every single week. Since a few weeks, one of them won't allow me to edit posts using Chrome. If I change to Firefox it is fine. If I use Chrome, anytime I edit a post, I get this under the Text tab, it adds this "text":
<span data-mce-type="bookmark" style="display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;" class="mce_SELRES_start"></span>
If I switch to Visual to Text, every time, that text is multiplied. In the end, I cannot edit the post at all.
I tried on another browser (Firefox), it works fine. If I try on another computer, even on Chrome, it works fine.
I am using Microsoft Security Essential, and scan every night. So I am unsure if this is a computer issue or other, and if it is a computer issue, what it might be.
Can anyone help me out?
Thanks.

It sounds like it might be a WordPress issue.
Are these sites that you own or control?
Do you know what WordPress version and WordPress Add-Ons are in use at the site with the issue?

Yes, those are my sites. I am just surprised that Chrome works on one computer and not on the other on that one site, and on one browser and not the other, which is why I THOUGHT it might be a computer issue.
My WP version is 5.1.1.

What Chrome Add-Ons are you using?
What happens if you disable all of them before loading the site with the issue?

I have the exact same extension on both computers, and it still is "misbehaving".
I disabled ALL the add-ons and extensions, and it still behaves exactly the same way.
The add-ons I was using are:
Adblock for Youtube™
Facebook Pixel Helper
Grammarly for Chrome
LastPass: Free Password Manager
Loom - Video Recorder:
Pinterest Save Button

That would definitely be a strange issue if you have the same WordPress setup on both sites, and the same Chrome extensions on both computers. Can we assume that both computers are your home PCs and they are both using the same internet connection and ISP?
You could try a Malwarebytes scan on the problem computer.

Yes, they are using the same internet connection. They are sitting side by side.
I'll try Malwarebytes.

It found a handful of possible threats (registry kind) which I quarantined. Reloaded the page, and it is still doing the same thing.

Do you have the same version of Windows on both computers, with the same Microsoft Updates installed?
Is the Chrome version the same on both computers?
You could try the Vivaldi web browser. It uses the same base rendering engine as Chrome.

Hum... the troublesome browser has a newer version, so maybe that is the problem: a bad update? Any way to reverse an update on Chrome?

It looks like that was the issue. I reverted back to a previous version and now, my WP works as usual. I hope I can prevent any automatic update of Chrome until it is solved.
Thanks.
