    Resolved [RESOLVED] Subtitles

    What ho one and all,

I have saved a film in both mp4 and mkv formats. I also have the subtitle file, however, in MPC-HC, I am unable to load it as the File/Subtitle fly-out options are grayed out.

I have tried with VLC but the version I am currently using is nothing short of c**p and crashes the computer every time!

How can I load the subtitle file? I have not had this issue with any other mp4 or mkv movie files.

    Thanks and toodle pip

    Rex

You could try going back to an older version of VLC to see if that works.

Pick one that you used to use that you know you liked or just go back to a 2.x.x version.

    Thanks for your reply.

Done that and what a difference. Contrary to what they say on the web site regarding compatibility, may be the new versions don't like XP? And I even managed to load the subtitle file. So I'm a happy bunny.

I expect that's true. I upgraded from 2.x to 3.x recently on my Win 7 computer and some features don't work quite as well as the old version.
