Store bought commercial audio CD's are .wav files and have to be formatted as such to play in a typical music CD player. I'm pretty sure that some car CD players will now also play mp3's as well.

I guess that's why the burned CD didn't work. The songs were saved as .mp3's by Train and sent to me on CDs for home use. I thought I'd try them in my new Jeep.
Can I convert MP3 to .wav?

You can use Windows Media Player..

Just remember that the new CD will only hold around 1/10th the no of songs depending on song length because the new wav files will be much larger than the burned mp3s

Ok, thanks fink.
I'm still trying to find out what format the CD player in the Jeep will play. You'd think this newer year it is would play mp3s. It's a 2006. The manual mentions dvds too. But I can't find any further information on that either.

Okay, I got bored tonight and decided to rip that disk I made to .wav files. I have it now burning a new disk.
I have not yet, tested the drive in Jeep with a commercial disk but I can't see why it wouldn't. We'll see tomorrow. eh?
