VPN
I am not sure if I am posting in the correct forum regarding VPN. With lack of privacy increasing all the time, I would like thoughts of using a VPN. I have been considering it, since the cost isn't that expensive for having privacy when on the internet. There are quite a number of companies who offer them. Does anyone use a VPN? If so, which one?

Hi, JDC2000. Why do you only use vpn when traveling and not all the time? I don't know too much about vpn, but, from what I read, the features I most want is no logging, strong encryption, IP address is hidden, and with relatively fast servers. There are so many vpn companies, it can be confusing. I was looking at nordvpn. They do offer a 3- year plan for $2.99/mo. Has anyone used nordvpn? I am not sure which company to select.

My ISP has not (at this time) been found to be collecting and selling personal information. This could change in the future of course. I do use it at home some of the time.

How are the speeds of the vpn compared with the speeds of what you are paying with your ISP?

How can one know for sure that a vpn company does not log user data, even though it states that it does not? I am considering trying nordvpn, but I read a review (link below) where the first review says that there was rumors that nordvpn logs user data. I know it says it was a rumor, but is there a way to know for sure they do not? I was considering getting the 3-year plan so the price drops to $2.99/month, but am wondering if there is a drawback for locking myself into a 3-year plan. I suppose there isn't anyone else out there that used/uses nordvpn that could comment on this?

I am using NordVPN for streaming and torrenting and so far it has not disappointed me yet. The speeds at times can be compromising but it should not be a point of concern since the privacy of NordVPN is unmatched. Anyways every individual has a different purpose, for e.g one prefers speed over privacy. Always read the review first to know if the providers fit according to your needs.

Here is the review of NordVPN which I came across and thought of sharing it with you guys. The review is in-depth but very neutral. There were some factors even I didn't know about.
