MS Security Essentials won't install on windows 10
Just got win 10 on my new build. Went to install ms security essentials and it says windows 10 has windows defender so it doesn't need ms sec essentials, I can't find an answer. Is this true I don't need to install ms security essentials?

Windows Defender for Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, and Windows 10 provides built-in protection against malware. You can't use Microsoft Security Essentials, but you don't need to—Windows Defender is already included and ready to go.

Ok if I don't use MS Security Essentials what should I run along with the Defender?

I'm not sure what you're asking. Windows Defender REPLACED Windows Security Essentials in Win8+. Did you look at the link I posted?
You could also run Malwarebytes if you want.

I did read the link but it used to be you never ran one line of defence. But maybe MS got it perfected now. I am finding some of the programs I used in win 7 are not compatible with win 10. I went to load the kindle for pc and it said it is not compatible. Is there a reader that will read amazon books but is compatible>

I don't use Kindles, so I can't really help you with that.
Maybe you can try looking at Amazon comments/support:
