    Thanks. Trying it out now. So far I've found that Twitter, Facebook and Disqus all need Javascript to load properly. Most sites I've navigated to seem to do well without it though. I'll add others if/as I find them.

    Actually there are a fair number of sites now that I've spent some time with it. I'm going to disable Jscript blocking for now because it's getting kind of irritating. Ironically if I knew in advance which sites I'd need to disable it for rather than use it globally that would fix it but if I knew which sites I'd need it for I wouldn't go there anyway.

    It's working again.

    Why would you want to block javascript?

    Mostly to avoid malware delivered secretly by websites or more frequently by ads from compromised servers. As I said above global blocking of all Javascript is not a workable solution for most people but shutting it off for specific sites is a good precaution if you know in advance it needs to be done for your own protection.
