Degragging question
I'm not sure where this question should go, apologies if it's in the wrong place.
Should I wait until all installations have been done before defragging, or defrag as I go?
Thanks - rev

Is it a new computer or recently wiped? No need to defrag for a while, as there hasn't been anything moving around.

I agree - if it is a new PC and you haven't been doing anything with any data files, then there is no need to defrag it.
If it has an SSD instead of a magnetic hard drive you don't defrag it either.

New installation of Windows but alongside the old. So I ended up with Windows.old, got rid of it and system restore and the hibernate file and changed the page file settings, all that...

But installations don't occupy contiguous blocks and plenty of stuff is fragged right after installing it or are they complete files on non-contiguous blocks?

You might as well wait until you do you app installs first, and then do a defrag. You won't see much benefit from defragging after each one.
