My NotepadX will notdisplay properly . i.e. Word Wrap..

in other words when I drop a full text of notes ( i.e. 7/8 lines of notes into the notepadX and it will not 'word wrap' like my windows XP notepad did .. it is just one continuous line of notes from to left to right ..& not dropping down as it should do .. ( very frustrating)

I know windows 10 did not intend this to be ..,,, but what idiot over at Microsoft ap dept decided to make this the default ??

how to find and correct this in preferences ( not there that I can see) ..

    thanks !

NotepadX is not a default Microsoft app. You must have installed it.

you are right .. my bad .. But I did find a link to problem and in there I found this:

The status of word wrap is stored in

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Notepad

    fWrap (on=1) (off=0)

If it is not there, create it.

    fWrap is REG_DWORD

As always be careful editing the registry.

Create a backup of the key.

Trouble is when I go into registry I find I am already a 1 and not a zero ...

maybe I delete the ap and use your suggestion of Notepad++

    thanks

That registry key is for the Microsoft Windows version of Notepad, not NotepadX. It won't have any effect on NotepadX.

What is wrong with the Microsoft version of Notepad? It works just fine for me.
