I need a strong workstation!
Hello,
Didn't know if I should post here or hardware.
I work remotely. I do a lot of work in Excel. Large workbooks, multiple workbooks open, multiple programs open.
What hardware do you recommend for a new build? How much ram, type of CPU? What ever suggestions you have are welcome.
Thank you,
Don

If Excel is your main working program (no games, CAD, video or image processing, etc.), then more memory along with a decent processor would probably help the most. I would go with at least 32 GB of RAM.
What is your price range for this computer? Can we assume you will be building it yourself from components, or are you looking for a system from Dell, HP, etc.

Thanks for responding, 99% work computer. After work I may check email and surf the net. That's it.
It will not be from Dell/HP. Probably an update to my current system:
Intel i3 7700 3.9 ghz
8 gb ram 1066 mhz
250 gb SSD
AsRock B250 pro4 motherboard
using onboard graphics
It can be upgraded to an i7, and can take 64 gb of ram

An i7 with 64 GB of RAM should work nicely.
