    Acer Aspire E15 problem

I have an Acer Aspire E15. Bought it second hand and had no problems until a month later. Sometimes during use the laptop would freeze and then the fan would start running on and off. The only way to fix it would be to press the on/off button and let the laptop reboot. Sometimes it does it within a few weeks, sometimes within a few days or hours!

Anyone know what the problem could be?

That sounds like it may be overheating. You could try monitoring the temperature with something like SpeedFan.

I agree, sounds like it may be overheating.
Use a Program like jdc2000 posted and check your Temps.

I would also take a Flashlight and look in the Vents to see if there is
    abnormal dust clogging the vents.
It would hurt to remove the Bottom Cover and use Canned Air to blow the Fan/Fans off, vents too!
Only do this if you are confident in your abilities to work on a computer.
If you do remove the cover and use the canned air to clean it, hold the fan blades stationary
with a Toothpick, Tweezers, etc... (you don't want the fan to spin freely during the cleaning).
