    Changing file name

    What ho one and all,

I own a flat that I rent out. I have 160 photos for inventory purposes, and an example naming is, Kitchen - March 2017 - 1. jpg etc. I have a new tenant coming in one week and want to give them a set of photos. As nothing has changed, it would be good if all photos had March 2018 in the file name.

Since every photo has a different file name, doing it individually will take almost forever. Is there a way, or program that will do a find and replace operation?

    Thanks and toodle pip

    Rex

An even better idea is to remove the date/year from the filenames altogether. Instead, make a folder for 2017, one for 2018, etc. if you want archived photos, and a folder named Current. Your potential tenants will not care what the rooms looked like in 1889, just what they look like now. They will not be cooking over an open fire or carrying water from the well inside in buckets, or emptying chamber pots. Replace any outdated photos in the Current folder with updated ones of the same name and you are done.
