    Adobe Flash

I have adoble flash disabled on my firefox and chrome browsers because of the high security risk to a computer when having it enabled. For me to be able to receive real time stock quotes, the website I use requires adobe flash. I read somewhere that is isn't as risky using flash in chrome, as it is in using it in firefox. Is that true? I would like to receive real time stock quotes on the webiste I use but am leary to enable flash. Any help would be appreciated.

As long as you keep Flash updated, I don't see why Chrome would be more secure than Firefox.

Hi JDC2000 and Midknyte. JDC2000, thanks for that link. I will take a look at it.

Midknyte, are you saying that as long as you keep flash updated in both firefox and chrome, that a computer isn't at more risk using flash than not using it?

I'm saying that I don't see Chrome being any safer than Firefox, if they are both using the latest version of Flash.

It's possible that there are unknown vulnerabilties in Flash, so it's your call if you want to keep it disabled or not. There is always a line between security and usability.

Is the risk reduced if I would enable flash for just one website?

I suppose so, versus leaving Flash enabled for all sites. It's still up to that website to keep up their security.

Midknyte, thanks for the reply. I guess will try to find another website where I can get real time stock quotes that doesn't use flash.
