    Can't get web pages

When I try to goto any web site, I get a new tab with a miserable icon on it and a black screen, I don't even get the usual Awe Snap! The i next to the address tells me that my 'connection is not secure' but that's the only clue - why is this happening and how do I fix it?

    Tanks - rev

What browser and OS are you using?

What urls are you going to? "connection not secure" would probably be http.

    Was it ever working?

The first thing to try is to use a different web browser. Do web pages load then? What happens if you try to load Google's home search page? You should not get a "page not secure" warning on that page.

Win 7 is the OS, Chrome is the browser and yes, it worked yesterday!

In Chrome I can only go to hotmail and I can only go to a link I receive in email.

    IE works fine.

If IE works, then it's probably an issue with Chrome. What version of Chrome are you using? The current version is 63.0.3239.132.

You could try doing a Chrome reset:

Can't do a reset because I get the same miserable icon tab and a black screen when I go to Settings. Can't download to reinstall for the same reason.

I'll try downloading it from IE.

Hmm. If you can't even do a reset, you could try uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome.

You can use Geek uninstaller to remove Chrome first.

Already did (Revo) - now all is well, I won't even try to understand what happened but I did install something called mobirise, a web page maker yesterday. Methinks it doth protest too much...

    Thanks!
