'couldn't send message because your device isn't connected to the internet'
But it is connected! You can't access hotmail without the internet.
I don't know what device the message is referring to but I'm trying to send from a desktop computer, the same one I'm using to post this message.
Thanks - rev

I assume that you were attempting to send an e-mail message using Hotmail.com and a web browser. If this is not correct, please supply additional details.
What web browser were you using?
Did you try a different browser? If yes, did you get the same message? The complete message, with any error codes, would be helpful.

Yes, hotmail and chrome (win 7) and that was the complete message. Never seen it before. My phone was connected as a media device just to charge it up but disconnecting it didn't change anything. I also rebooted the modem and here I am back online but the messages still wouldn't send. I'll try turning off extensions.

What is the exact name of the extension? That would be good to know in case someone else has the same problem.

I don't know but it was called MailCheck and it that allowed you to check your messages at mail.com with one click from your browser.
