BATTERY PROBLEM
I have a thinkpad T 430. running windows 10 Home. I bought a 9 cell battery. The directions said to run it down to 2% then fully charge it. I ran it down
to 3% then tried to charge it. The battery icon said plugged in Not charging. My Lenovo power adapter is 65 watts. How can I fix this?

A real common problem with laptops is that the jack where the power supply plugs in break.
You can try giggling it a little to see if it makes connection.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

Is the new battery an exact match or is it an aftermarket battery?

It is a 9 cell bigger battery. My laptop charger is 65 watts and 20 volts. Is that a problem or is windows 10 not allowing a charge?

If this was a new battery from Lenovo, they might be able to help or exchange it. If it is a third party battery made in a back alley noodle shop and battery factory in Bangladesh, you might have more difficulty. A 65 watt charger should be able to charge a 9-cell battery, just slower. Windows 10 should not be a factor, especially if the computer is powered off during charging.
