Images in IE title
What ho one and all,
Ignoring the fact that I use XP Pro, OE 6 and Firefox ESR, recently, I have been having a 'image display' issue with incoming e-mails.
Up until a number of weeks ago, most incoming that had images (shop logos, photos, etc) actually displayed. Now they don't, just a little red X in the top left corner.
E-mail images.jpg
This does not happen with every image, frequently, the image is visible. Also, whenever I receive the IE message relating to installation of temp fonts, I know that images will not be displayed.
And yes, the OE/Options/Security/Block html is not checked. I have not changed anything in OE for years so don't know what has changed.
How can I get OE to display correctly?
Thanks and toodle pip

The thread title is somewhat misleading. It should be:
Images not showing in Outlook Express
There are a variety of possible causes. There is a setting in OE to download images. If this has somehow gotten changed, that could be your issue.

For Outlook, but applies to OE also:

Sorry about the title and thanks for the links.
Unfortunately, none of them have produced the desired result. I Goolged the issue and of course, x thousand hits! Also not fixing the issue. F**k It! There are more important things in life!

No joy yet. I believe that IE uses OE for its web images? In OE, I have the Tools/Options/Advanced/Mulitmedia all checked, inc, Show Pictures. But still zilch.
I looked at the e-mail properties and copy / pasted some of the http links, mostly gif. They go to the correct web link and display whatever the address links to, in most cases, social media links (FaceBook/Twitter/ etc) But I cannot find the photo links.
The point is, I still don't have images displayed on the e-mails!

Actually it is the other way round - OE uses IE.
I assume that you do not have the "Block external content" option set:

And you checked the possible fix links from the first link I posted above.
What antivirus/antimalware software are you using?
