unable to import pictures from iPhone 6 a second time

Imported iPhone 6 pictures to windows 7 laptop but didn't take the delete option.

Moved the pictures to a different location on the laptop but am unable to download the pictures a second time.

Also changed the import settings to download to a different location but doesn't appear to make a difference.

Get the message "no new pictures or videos were found on this device".
When I first connect the iPhone I get the message "looking in internal storage DCIM\100APPLE" - it must be this that's the problem , is there a setting to change what it looks for?

    Grateful for any help.

    Thanks

Where are the photos located on your phone? You need to know exactly where they are located on the phone.

Thanks for getting back to me. I don't know where they're stored other than I guess the default place for an iPhone 6, I certainly haven't changed any settings on the phone.

Might if I explain what I'm trying to do.

I have 1200 photos which has taken Up pretty much all of the space on the phone. I have copied and pasted the photos onto laptop and ext hard drive for backups through windows explorer. Also imported them through windows and moved them from the standard place . This last step I didn't take the delete after import option . Would like to import again (final backup) and deleted the pics. It's this last step that I can't do. Says there are no new photos even though I moved them from the location they were imported.

Guess really I looking for a quick way of deleting from phone , but making sure I don't lose any of them .

    Thanks
    Wilf

If by chance you used cut/paste, they are no longer on your phone.

Just a suggestion and I don't own an iPhone but on my phone when I connect it to the computer, I can click the drop down arrow on the phone showing up in windows explorer, I see all the folders for my phone. The only place other than my external memory card, is the gallery on my phone where photos are stored. Perhaps iPhone has the same set up.

Did you check the free space remaining on your iPhone? See if they were deleted:

    https://www.imore.com/daily-tip-check-disk-space

See what is using the space:

If the photos are still shown as using space, then Windows is thinking it is being "helpful" by not showing the photos it knows were already transferred. You have 2 options at this point:
    1. Make Windows forget that you already transferred the photos.
    2. Use a different program or method to transfer and delete them.

    Option 2 links:

Option 1 links (use with care, try option 2 methods first):

thamk you all for youlr help. I'm the end I've used an old laptop and imported the photos and took the option to delete them from the phone. Guess what I was looking for was where the flag is in windows 7 that identifies if the photos have already been imported.

    Anyway thanks again

The flag isn't in Windows 7, it is in the Windows Photo Viewer program. As to where, Microsoft isn't saying, but probably in the Registry somewhere. If you don't use that program to transfer the files, then this isn't an issue.
