[RESOLVED] Synching gmail on android phone with pc
I have Android 7.0 phone and a Windows 10 PC. When I read a gmail on my PC it shows as read on my android phone however when I read a gmail on my phone it does not show as read on my PC.
Is there a way to correct this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Brian

Have you tried to refresh your gmail account on PC?
You can go through the setting in order to sync your account on both devices.

My apologies to you jdc2000, I must have had a brain cramp.
This morning I read all my emails on my phone before leaving home. It appears that what happens is that after a given period of time if I receive new emails and then return home and check on my PC all the emails previously read on the phone show as read on my PC. I can’t say how long this period of time takes. The clearing of the cached data must have solved the problem before or something else did. I have cleared the cached data once more and will wait to see what happens.
I have not tried to refresh my gmail account on my PC yet.
Mea culpa again jdc2000,
Brian

jdc2000, queen123,
One hour later at 6:50 PM my time : It seems that after a new mail comes in the messages on the PC move to “read” if I have previously read them on my phone.

One possible way to avoid the whole issue is to always access your e-mail through a web browser. Then you should be able to control whether a message is marked as "Read" or not, and it will maintain that setting no matter what device you are using to view your e-mails.
