Mozilla to End All Firefox Support for XP and Vista in June 2018

Mozilla announced today plans to discontinue any support for the Firefox browser on Windows XP and Vista in June 2018.

"As one of the few browsers that continues to support Windows XP and Vista, Firefox users on these platforms can expect security updates until that date," said Mozilla in a statement released today.

They will also start logging all of your browsing information:

"less than one percent" of Firefox browser downloads taking place in Germany."

We have great IT people here. When it hits us, someone will figure out how to turn it off.

Supposedly, you will be able to remove the extension, if you find out it is there - you would have to know it could be and perform a manual check. Mozilla is rolling this out in Germany, for now. Who knows where they may decide to deploy it to next.

"Cliqz does not build browsing profiles for individual users and discards the user's IP address once the data is collected,"
So they are saying they do make note of the user's IP address but delete it afterwards. The whole concept of collecting browsing data is bad enough but not only do they admit making note of the IP addresses they say they delete it "once the data is collected". Does that mean once that session is done? Does it mean once the whole Cliqz project is finished and when would that be? Months? Years? Ever? Should we believe that the data kept, along with IP addresses is secure?

    No thanks!

Yeah, right, just like Microsoft, unless you knew which updates to avoid. And Verizon's doing it too. On the internet, you're just a pair of eyeballs.
