    D&S lock-out

    What ho one and all,

Some time ago, I purchased a refurbed Dell desktop with W7 Pro installed. I have DeCrapified, etc, but surprisingly, there was nothing installed.

However, I hate being locked-out of my computer, and for whatever reasons, I cannot open Documents & Settings. I have used Properties to reset the Security to allow all users, etc, but still, I am unable to open anything.

Is this a default W7 situation, or was the install set to prevent any fiddling around?

    Toodle pip and thanks

    Rex

Yes, it's a junction point. Users replaces Docs&Settings in Vista and higher. Don't mess with the security settings. It's there for legacy support only.

    Gentlemen,

Thanks for the links and explanation; seems like I was barking up the wrong tree. Will try 'User.'
