FWIW I have a Dell puter also and if you just want to boot from CD,put in your bootable disc, restart and tap theF12 key. It will then give you that option, works everytime for me.
More details would be helpful. When you go into the BIOS setup, what devices are shown as connected? What boot devices are listed? You need to get the CD/DVD drive showing up and in the boot devices. Even if you had a USB drive that was bootable, you would still need to be able to access the boot menu.
Just got CD to start setup in Legacy & it got to the point where it says where do i want to install windows, all partitions are empty & iget the error:
Windows cannot be installed to this disc.
The selected disc is of the GPT partition style.
The next Button is Grayed out.
Where do i go from here ??????????????

What does that mean? We need details if we are going to be able to provide worthwhile assistance. What EXACTLY did you try, and what EXACTLY were the results? We would like to see a post the looks like a Russian novel, long, boring, and full of tragedy.
