Skype installation
I've had to struggle with the UAC during the install of several programs. For a few I've tricked the system into some way of accepting the change. The latest one is Skype, which I need with my webcam for online work. At the very end of the installation, I get an error and have to cancel. I don't care if the shortcut is in the StartMenu
I've tried by Taking Ownership of the Start Menu folder
I've tried it as Administrator
I've tried the built-in Hidden Admin (then turning it off. I use it only for this kind of thing.)
I've tried checking all the Permissions in the context menu
I've tried a reg edit that temporarily disables the UAC and then re-enables it
Event Viewer says the same thing.
I'm out of ideas.

Right click on the install file and Run as Administrator.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

One final test you could try is to see if you can copy a file to that folder or create a file in that folder. Try copying a .txt (text) file, or use Notepad to try to save a text file there and see what happens.

There is no folder. After it hits the error message, it goes backwards and removes everything. Thanks for the try anyway. Win 7 is a real PITA. Hope they cleared up these bugs in Win 10.

If that folder does not exist, then that is the problem. Create it and make sure that for the install Everyone has permission to read/write/execute files.

Did Windows allow you to create the folder in your original error message, and set the permissions to Everyone?
What error messages did you get this time?

I created the folder, set permissions. 3 messages:
Attachment 14401
Attachment 14403
Attachment 14405
Maybe the file is corrupt, but I already installed Vid.
