Resolved [RESOLVED] Printing from a MacBook Air via USB cable

I presently have an iMac with OS X 10.6.8 and a Brother HL- 2040 laser printer connected to the iMac via a USB cable. I want to purchase a MacBook Air with macOS Sierra. Will I be able to print to this printer from the MacBook Air via a USB cable?

Any help wpould be greatly appreciated,

    Brian

    According to Brother's site, yes.

    Hi jdc2000

According to what I have found on the web macOS Sierra (version 10.12) is the thirteenth major release of macOS (previously OS X), Apple Inc.'s desktop and server operating system for Macintosh computers. It doesn't appear that Brother HL-2040 is on tthe list or am I incorrect in the definition I found. It was on Wikepdia and that is not always the gospel!

    Thanks for your reply,

    Brian

Best option would be to check with brother and see if they have a driver for that OS.

    Hi photolady,

I have done that and it appears they do not have a driver for Sierra.

    Thanks for your input,

    Brian

Well, shoot! Guess that's one of the reasons I quit using MAC computers about 18 years ago.
