    Resolved [RESOLVED] Need new heatsink

I need a new heatsink/fan assembly for my AMD 8-core FX8120. The fan died on mine but there is no way to just install a fan so I need the whole unit. Preferably a good one but not one that costs a lot. I will use this one until I paid on the first or third of September and can buy a better one. I've used Thermaltake before on other AMD computers and have like them, but I don't like the ones that stand tall, but those the are square and come with the CPU.

    I need it yesterday.

The one I have is similar to the one below.

Those are nice but most of them aren't for an AM3+, and I have to buy from Amazon where I can pay via my Amazon card and get it in three days instead of the longer time from newegg.

I bought this one as you mentioned Coolmaster in the list, and it has copper heatpipes like my other one had.

Actually, it will be here tomorrow. At first it said delivery would be Saturday but checked tracking just a minute ago and it changed delivery to be tomorrow. I can't get packages any faster from newegg unless I chose overnight shipping which is always IMO way too expensive.

In all the years I've built and used computers I have never had a fan on the heatsink fail. It's quit disconcerting to find this one did fail.

And with this heatsink, there was no way to remove just the fan and replace it.

I got a new setup in my wish list at newegg. I've decided I'm going to quit buying parts from Amazon even if I can get them in two days instead of three or four. For the last two years every motherboard I've bought through Amazon has either been DOA or quit working before a year is up.

Am I purchasing seconds at Amazon? I don't know but I've never had this problem with buying from newegg.
