YIKES!! I'm Locked Out of Mmy Computer

A computer that I use regularly has now locked me out. When I booted up this AM, it asked for a name & PW. I have never needed to do that before. Also it gives me an option for a PW reset providing I made a disc. I did not . The OS is windows 7 Ultimate. I haven't the foggiest idea as to why this would occur. is there any way out of this mess or do I need to reformat & start over?? Thanks much ................

Sorry, but per the AUP, we can't help with bypassing passwords.

I resolved the issue by using safe mode etc. But what can one do to prevent this from happening again? This pc has no cdrom so I would not be able to make a disc.

If your computer can boot from USB, most do now, then you can burn/place the recovery files onto a thumb drive instead of a disk.

If the computer thinks it had a bad shutdown, for example that happens.

Thanks for the info. I'll give that a try. Strange as it seems, this version of win7 Does not want to work without a PW. I give it a PW & it seems to be ok. The machine that I am using to type this post uses windows 7. No PW, just direct boot to the desktop. never gives me any problems. And there's also problems with windows 10. I have a laptop, & 2 PCs that run windows 10. Wife has an all-in-one with win 10. Hers, my laptop & one PC boots directly to the desktop. No Sign-in. But one PC, no matter what I do, it will not bypass the sign-in. I've searched the web & tried all the fixes to no avail......Thanks again for the info...

For some silly reason it thinks they are on a network and that does require a password.

Passwords never bothered me and I do use them.

I've had Win 7 only 6 months, and it has refused to work with me so many times, that I feel like chucking it out the window.
