[RESOLVED] Computer Will Not Start. 5 steady beeps
HP xw4600 workstation computer
XP Pro
dual core pentium
seagate 500 GB hard drive SATA
Can't turn it on to give more info
When I try to turn it on I get 5 steady beeps 3 or 4 times
I cleaned out the dust (very little)
Swapped out the mouse, keyboard and monitor
Still 5 beeps
If you need more info let me know.

It looks like it could be a memory problem. You can try removing and re-installing the memory modules. How many memory sticks does it have?

It worked! Thank you very much. 4 sticks by the way. 3.6 GB of usable RAM. I think there is 4 GB installed. I use the computer for making music. The two programs I have Only work up to XP and, at the time cost about $300 apiece. They do everything I ever want to do with music.

You might want to run MemTest86 from the bootable UBCD (see Midknyte's link in his signature) to make sure that it was just a bad connection issue and not an actual memory error on that computer.
